NVIDIA, AMD Graphics Cards Prices Are Now Cheaper — Crypto Miners Dumping GPUs?

NVIDIA and AMD graphics card prices are remarkably getting cheaper. It fell by up to 16% of the previous manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) when their costs were skyrocketing.

As per a news story by IGN, PC building folks have faced hefty prices of graphics cards for years since the shortage began to wreck the supply and demand balance.

But after several months of painfully high costs, the prices of graphics cards are reportedly seeing more affordable numbers.

However, IGN notes that a few graphics cards are still grappling with the whole supply mess. Despite that, most of their prices have significantly eased up to be cheaper than ever.

During the peak of the whole cryptocurrency hype and the raging supply mess, graphics cards from NVIDIA ended up stratospherically unaffordable. Its costs jacked up roughly 300% of its original pricing.

On the other hand, graphics cards from AMD skyrocketed 200% beyond their MSRP.

But this time, PC gamers could save a few bucks as NVIDIA and AMD cards are seeing lower prices these days.

Nvidia RTX 3090 Ti Now Cheaper?

PC Gamer notes that the NVIDIA RTX 3090 Ti graphics card now sees a lower MSRP. It now sells 16% below its previous pricing.

The new retail price of the RTX 3090 Ti is in stark contrast with its cost during the height of crypto hype and supply shortage. It used to go twice as high as the MSRP.

However, IGN reports that the lower-end graphics cards of NVIDIA have yet to slump in pricing. In fact, the RTX 3060 Ti and the RTX 3060 still retail for roughly 10% more than their MSRPs.

How About AMD’s RX 6950 XT?

Here’s another reason for PC gamers to rejoice. IGN also saw that the AMD RX 6950 XT price have become a bit more affordable nowadays.

Its peak price was far from its MSRP, but it now eases up below the supposed pricing. The RX 6950 XT now costs 4% below its suggested price.

Crypto Miner Dumping GPUs

The whole crypto market faces a bear winter season, wherein most of their prices have significantly gone down far from their all-time-high performance.

According to a recent report by PC Gamer, crypto miners, mostly from China, have started to get rid of their mining GPUs. Therefore, numerous listings of RTX 30 graphics cards with remarkably cheap prices flooded the secondhand market.

The news outlet notes that the listing of RTX 3060 Ti graphics cards ranges from a low $300 to $350, far from its MSRP of $699. But do note that crypto miners have used these cards excessively to mine cryptos.
